Korean group 2NE1 topped the charts this week with their Japanese debut mini-album “NOLZA,” selling 26,000 copies. This makes them the fastest Korean girl group to reach #1. It also makes them just the 3rd foreign artist to achieve #1 with a debut work in Japan, after Russian duo t.A.T.u. in 2003 and Korean singer Jang Keun-Suk in April of this year.
Meanwhile, Hikawa Kiyoshi ranked #2 on the charts, giving him his 19th top 10 single. This ties him with Mori Shinichi for the record of “most top 10 singles” by a solo enka or kayou artist.
